- Former English professional striker: Man Utd and Salford City
- Former England Under-20’s
- Pundit: talkSPORT, BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sport
Having played for teams such as Manchester United, Sheffield United and Portsmouth, Danny is a football striker and winger who has recently retired from professional football.
Born in Manchester, Danny went on to play for his home team United from 1998 to 2003; he started out as a trainee and after scoring 16 goals in 11 appearances he was offered a professional contract.
After a loan to Watford he joined them on a permanent basis for two years before he moved to Sheffield United for the second half of the 2004/05 season. Whilst there his goals helped them gain promotion to the Premier League in 2006.
Over the next few years Danny played for teams such as Portsmouth, Leeds Utd, Doncaster Rovers and Accrington Stanley before he joined Salford City in 2014. He helped the side to win the Northern Premier League Division One North title back in 2014.
Danny only joined Salford after turning up at Moor Lane to commentate for BBC Radio Manchester. At half time he was spotted by his old team mates- The Class of ’92- who persuaded him to get his boots on for the second half! Since then he has been on an amazing FA Cup run with the team.
Danny has been working hard off the pitch on his media skills and is making name for himself as both a co-commentator and a pundit for BBC Radio 5 Live, talkSPORT and Final Score. He is also using his experience and knowledge of the game to work as a football agent and currently has an impressive stable of young talent.
At Tongue Tied we love a grafter!
