Leah is a young English Women’s football player currently playing for Arsenal Ladies and the England’s women under 23’s national team.
Having started playing at the age of nine, she made her senior debut in the Arsenal Ladies 0-2 defeat to Birmingham City ladies in UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter final.
Leah made 12 appearances in the 2014 FA Women’s Super League and at the end of the season was named the FA WSL Cup Player of the Year. But she wasn’t about to stop there! Leah then won the England Women’s Youth Player of the Year award and in April 2015 she was named the 2014-15 PFA Young Women’s Player of the Year.
Leah has represented England since 2010 and she captained the England Under 17 side in the 2014 UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship. She was also part of the England Women’s Under-20 football team which competed in the 2014 FIFA Under 20 Women’s World Cup in Canada. She was in the starting lineup in every England match.
Leah made the media in April 2015 when her successful penalty was disallowed for player encroachment in a qualifying match against Norway for the 2015 UEFA under-19 championship. The match was ordered to be replayed five days after the original contest. The players returned to finish the last two minutes of their game with the score standing at 2-1 to Norway, Leah equalised and in doing so booked her team’s place in the tournament finals.
Leah is certainly one to watch as pointed out in the Independent!
