Andy began his career as a youth player for Arsenal, signing professional terms in 1989. He then joined Second Division Bristol City in 1992 and quickly became one of the hottest prospects in England. In February 1993, Division One leaders Newcastle United signed Andy, which broke their club transfer record. Andy was awarded the Premier League Golden Boot for the 1993/1994 season. After that, Andy spent six years with Manchester United between 1995 and 2001, winning eight major trophies, including the Treble (Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League) in 1999.

He is the fourth-highest goal scorer in Premier League history, behind Wayne Rooney, and holds Premier League records for most goals scored in a 42-game season (34) and fastest to score 50 goals (65 matches).

Andy has the distinction of being one of the few players in England to have swept all possible honors in the English game, including the PFA Young Player of the Year award and the coveted UEFA Champions League title. Cole was also capped 15 times for the England national team between 1995 and 2001.

As well as for Manchester United, Newcastle United, and England, Andy Cole also played in the top division of English football for Arsenal, Blackburn Rovers, Fulham, Manchester City, Portsmouth, and Sunderland. In The Football League, he played for Bristol City, Birmingham City, Burnley, and Nottingham Forest.

On 11 November 2008, Andy announced his retirement from football, ending an incredible 19-year career. He is now a regular pundit on PLP and has appeared frequently on SKY and Premier League TV. Most recently, he worked as a pundit for CVM TV Jamaica covering the men’s World Cup in Qatar.

Andy is a Manchester United ambassador and frequently appears across their platforms. At the start of 2023, he worked closely with Connecting Brands, producing previews of Manchester United’s latest fixtures for Betsafe and Betway.

His autobiography ‘Fast Forward’ was released in November 2020, which gives a detailed perspective of how Andy created his sporting success.

Outside of football, Andy splits his time between his Kidney Research Fund (more details here) and following boxing and golf. He is also a big fan of all things interior design and puts it down to having grown up with six sisters!
