Ben is a former English professional footballer. Known for his commanding presence, leadership, and consistency at the back, Ben built a reputation as one of the most reliable defenders in English football. He announced his retirement from professional football in 2026 following a spell with Sheffield United.

Mee began his career at Manchester City, coming through the club’s academy and captaining the side to FA Youth Cup success in 2008. Although first-team opportunities were limited, he gained experience through loan spells at Leicester City and Burnley before making a permanent move to Burnley in 2012.

At Burnley, Mee became a key figure over more than a decade, making over 350 appearances and captaining the side as they earned promotion to the Premier League and established themselves as a resilient top-flight team under Sean Dyche.

In 2022, he joined Brentford, where his experience and leadership were important in strengthening Thomas Frank’s squad in the Premier League.

Off the pitch, Ben has also been active in broadcasting, working as a pundit across Sky Sports, PLP, BBC, and talkSPORT, and is widely respected for his thoughtful analysis and calm, articulate presence.
