Grace mCEWeN

Grace McEwen is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for Brighton & Hove Albion Women. Born in Essex, she has been playing football since the age of eight, starting in a local grassroots boys’ team before joining the Essex County Regional Talent Centre at 12.

She later progressed through the age groups at Charlton Athletic from U12s to U16s, earning an U21 PGA contract as she established herself as a highly rated young defender. She initially joined Brighton & Hove Albion in 2023, playing within the club’s academy setup.

In January 2024, she made her FA Cup debut aged 16 in a 6–0 win over Luton Town. She has also represented England at U17 level, featuring as both a centre-back and full-back.

In September 2024, McEwen joined Portsmouth Women on dual registration to gain senior experience in WSL 2, where she unfortunately suffered an ACL injury in January 2025. She has since returned to full fitness and is back playing regularly.

In 2025, she signed her first professional contract with Brighton & Hove Albion, marking an important milestone in her progression at the club.
