Lucy lyon

Lucy is a commanding centre-back and former captain of Arsenal Women’s U21s, known for her leadership, physical presence and eye for goal. She developed through the Essex RTC before joining Arsenal, where she progressed through the academy system and established herself as a key figure at youth level.

In the 2024/25 season, she captained the side to a dominant campaign, winning the U21 PGA Division 1 title and lifting the Capital Women’s Cup, contributing nine goals from defence and highlighting her threat from set pieces and attacking intelligence.

During the same season, Lucy gained senior experience through a dual registration with Watford Women in the FA Women’s National League, making four appearances, keeping four clean sheets and scoring once as she adapted to senior football.

In summer 2025, Lucy signed her first professional contract with Watford FC. She went on to play a key role in the 2025/26 season as part of the Watford side that won the Women’s National League and secured promotion to WSL2.

Lucy’s development has also been shaped by overcoming a major injury during her U16 season, an experience that strengthened her resilience and determination. She continues to be recognised for her consistency, leadership and mentality at both academy and senior level.
