Rachel Brown-Finnis

Rachel is a former England international goalkeeper turned respected football pundit, commentator, and EFL ambassador. During an illustrious playing career spanning nearly two decades, she earned 82 caps for England, representing her country at four UEFA European Championships (2001, 2005, 2009, 2013), two FIFA Women’s World Cups (2007, 2011), and the 2012 London Olympics with Team GB.

At club level, she played for Liverpool and Everton, helping the Blues win the 2010 FA Women’s Cup, and also gained early professional experience in Iceland with ÍBV. She spent time in the US on a scholarship at the University of Alabama before transferring to the University of Pittsburgh, where she played for the Pittsburgh Panthers and graduated.

Since retiring, Rachel has become a prominent broadcaster with BBC Sport, regularly appearing on Football Focus and Final Score. She is also a co-commentator for BBC and TNT Sports across domestic and international competitions and was part of the BBC’s commentary team at UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, as well as covering major tournaments including FIFA World Cups, UEFA European Championships, the Paris Olympics, and FA Cup finals.

Beyond broadcasting, she has worked as EFL ambassador, and is a sought-after speaker, known for her insight into leadership, resilience, and the modern game.
