Sofia Borg

Sofia is a goalkeeper for Newcastle United Women U21, training full-time within a high-performance professional environment. She regularly trains with the first team and competes at U21 level, with a focus on continued technical, tactical and physical development.

Born and developed in Australia, Sofia previously played for Perth RedStar U16s before progressing through the Football Australia Academy system, where she featured in senior women’s football and helped the NPLW 21s win the 2024 league title, recording seven clean sheets across the season.

She also gained experience with Perth Glory Women’s train-on squad and spent time involved with the Maltese National Team setup, further broadening her international development background before moving into the English game with Newcastle United.
